Software that I use or used:

Videos, etc

• Kdenlive - one of the best open-source video editors
• Smoothie-RS - very good motion blur for FPS videos
• mpv - the superior video player

Photos:

• GNU Image Manipulation Program - amazing photo editor for almost anything
• Gwenview - photo viewer
• DigiKam - album organization(very good)
• ImageMagick - general purpose cli tool for modifying images

Audio processing:

• SoX - cli audio editor, for automation
• Audacity - graphical tool for editing & recording audio
• Audacious - rhytmbox but its not rhytmbox

Operating systems

that I currently use(or have installed)

• Void Linux - systemd-free general purpose linux distribution, use it on my main pc
• Debian - stable distro with systemd(aughhh)
• MX Linux - debian-based distro that can be used with or without systemd
• LMDE - I was way too lazy to install Debian

that I tried

• Ubuntu - used to daily drive this a couple of years ago, kind of sucks for my use cases nowadays
• Artix - arch-based distro with no systemd, had some incompatibilities with it
• Fedora Workstation - didn't really like it
• Devuan - don't know why i replaced it with mx
• Arch Linux - used to daily drive for about a year or one and a half, switched to void due to memory issues
• and a couple more that I will not mention.
